It’s been a while since my last post and a lot has happened since then. Most notably, we changed our name and officially established the Office of External Affairs in December. While its not clear if the two are connected, we are definitely busier than ever. Over the next two months we have 11 client and internal events to market, plan, and manage – crazy!
Recently, I’ve had the opportunity to work closely with Towson University’s Presidential Scholar for Innovation in Teacher and Leader Preparation, Dr. Nancy Grasmick. In her role as Presidential Scholar, Dr. Grasmick has been tasked with opening a dialogue among educators and the community-at-large to provide opportunities for
these important stakeholders to have access to the newest information and research on key education topics presented by national experts. We are working with Dr. Grasmick to plan and market these Signature Forums, a series of speaker-centered events focused on providing Maryland’s educators, parents, and policy makers with access to the newest information and research on current and pertinent education topics.
Our kick-off event in January featured world-renown Pediatric Neurosurgeon Dr. Ben Carson of Johns Hopkins Children Center and Dr. Martha Denckla of the Kennedy Krieger Institute. On March 26th we will welcome former Baltimore City Police Commissioner Fred Bealefeld to speak on the topic of school violence and safety. Attendance is free, but space is limited, so if you’re interested I encourage you to register today!
