The 2017 TUgis is just around the corner! On March 20-21, Towson University will host the 30th TUgis Conference. Presented in partnership by Towson University College of Liberal Arts, Maryland State Geographic Information Committee (MSGIC), and Maryland Department of Information Technology (DoIT), Maryland’s Geospatial Conference brings together the top geo-technologists in our region—and promises something for everyone.

What to Expect from TUgis

This year the conference includes a full day of pre-conference training workshops and over 70 talks in the conference program. Attendees will have access to Mini-Workshops, Panel Presentations, Lightning Talks, and Individual Presentations. And, for a second year, we are happy to include an Exhibitor Presentation session. Additionally, conference attendees can expect to:

  • Hear about the Maryland’s latest Geospatial use cases
  • Share and learn about best practices
  • Learn about advances in the field
  • Network with the GIS community
  • Celebrate our accomplishments and work
  • First time? You’ll be exposed to GIS and top GIS professionals

The Map/App Competition

Thanks to esri, our training sponsor, on Monday, March 20, TUgis is offering training classes and lunch for $25. We have received overwhelming response and the only open training session is a GISP Certification Workshop.

Special Sessions (sponsored by MSGIC)

Elevation Data Workgroup is an interactive discussion on new and planned elevation services for MDiMAP portal, Bathymetric LIDAR, and DoIT’s elevation strategic planning. Also the panel session, Preparing for a Geospatial Career—intended for new or seasoned GIS professionals—will cover the process for finding, applying for, and interviewing for a position.
