Read on for a student success story and get inspired to create your own.

Tell us a little about your background.

I am an information systems professional with more than 20 years of experience in a variety of industries. I have experience participating in complex projects: planning, analyzing, testing, as well as implementing security solutions in support of the customer objectives. I am currently working in a federal contractor company to provide support for identity management, security system access and change management.

Why did you decide to take our CompTIA A+, Network+ & Security+ Course?

I decided to take this course (CompTIA A+, Network+ & Security+ Course, formerly Cyber Security Associate) to further my knowledge in a wide variety of IT areas including: hardware, software, networking, mobile devices and security. It helped me to be up to date in many technologies and devices, as well as learning new skills especially in security.

Did you find any advantages to taking a self-paced course?

Absolutely! The flexibility to be able to be in the comfort of my house with no commute was a huge advantage. I enjoyed the flexibility of being able to attend the classes two days per week after I finished my work. Professor Gil Agyapong was able to continue the classes in a virtual platform during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Why did you choose Towson University Continuing & Professional Studies?

Because Towson University has a great reputation and after reading the course description and the time commitment, it worked for me. I could study after my work shift.

Did you take your certification exam yet? Did you pass?

I took the CompTIA ITF + exam while in training and I did pass. After the course finished, I took my time to study and get prepared for the CompTIA Security + exam which I recently also passed.

Anything you would like to add?

It was a pleasure having Gil Agyapong as my professor.
