The ATHENAPowerLink® Baltimore Women in Business Speaker Series, hosted by the StarTUp at the Armory and supported by PNC Bank, features trailblazers from across Maryland discussing accomplishments, challenges, and insights as women business leaders. This is a great opportunity to connect with entrepreneurs, business leaders, and community members from Greater Baltimore.
We kicked off our first session of the fall term with April Richardson, ESQ, accomplished attorney and businesswoman. April is a former attorney turned owner and operator of two retail bakeries—DC Sweet Potato Cake and Baked In Baltimore—and a robust baked goods manufacturing facility. In less than a year, she and her team turned the struggling bakery into one of the fastest-growing commercial bakeries in the DC region. She has attracted national contracts such as Starbucks, Safeway, Wegmans, Nordstrom, and QVC.
During her talk, April spoke about the raw truths of being a woman entrepreneur, and inspired the audience through storytelling and helpful advice.
