Stackable certifications are “part of a sequence of credentials that can be accumulated over time and move an individual along a career pathway or up a career ladder.” In the information technology industry, it’s common for professionals to stack CompTIA certifications as a way to navigate and build a career in IT. You may be wondering, “which certifications can I stack?”

What are some stackable CompTIA certifications?

CompTIA certifications are highly valued in the information technology industry and are easily stackable with other CompTIA certifications. Stacking your certifications can lead to more higher ranked roles, an increase in salary, and allow you to move around various sectors. You can obtain three of CompTIA’s in-demand certifications through Towson University’s Continuing and Professional Studies.

CompTIA A+: This entry-level certification is great for those looking to get into the information technology field or are looking to get promoted in your current role.

CompTIA Network+: This mid-level certification is the standard for establishing yourself as an information technology professional.

CompTIA Security+: This certification is the industry standard for validating baseline skills needed to perform core security functions and pursue an IT security career.
