The StarTUp at the Armory offers Towson University students opportunities to build and grow entrepreneurship mindsets, connections, and their own ventures through competitions, events, and other programs.

The RealTalk series allows TU students opportunities to connect with each other and with local entrepreneurs working in relatable industries. Each session is hosted by a student-led organization, with students interviewing the guest speaker and leading the conversations.

Jon Bregel, multi-disciplinary filmmaker and founder of The Nourish Community, speaks during a RealTalk session at the StarTUp at the Armory.

The first RealTalk featured Jon Bregel, a Baltimore-based, multi-disciplinary filmmaker, who frequently uses the StarTUp at the Armory co-working space. He connected with students about his experiences as a film director and founder of The Nourish Community, a community for filmmakers in pursuit of wellness, meaningful relationships, and purpose.

He also shared his work on award-winning campaigns for international brands, that include Nike, Audi, National Geographic, Cadillac, ACLU, Samsung, Pfizer, Gap, and Tiffany & Co.

Dozens of TU students attended the session, which was hosted by The Lab, a student group that collaborates on branding and marketing to boost visibility of client projects. Students took advantage of networking with other students who are also freelancers and up and coming entrepreneurs.

The next RealTalk takes place on Friday, April 18, 2–4 p. m., and features Christian Stanley, partner and senior financial advisor at Greenspring Advisors, and Austin King, private wealth relationship manager at Merrill Lynch, in partnership with the TU Investment Club.
